About the role
We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Kitchen Production Employee to join our dynamic kitchen team at Kororin! Your main role would be to assist the rest of the kitchen team in the production of fresh onigiri to be offered at Chicagoland grocery stores and market festivals. The ideal candidate will support our kitchen operations by maintaining cleanliness, washing dishes, preparing ingredients, and ensuring that all kitchen equipment and areas meet our high standards of hygiene and safety. This position is essential to the smooth operation of our kitchen and provides a great opportunity for those looking to start a career in food service production.
Key Responsibilities
Food Preparation
● Assist in preparing ingredients, including washing, mixing, and measuring.
● Follow recipes accurately and efficiently.
● Assist in the manufacture of ready-to-eat onigiri under the supervision of the kitchen manager.
Kitchen Maintenance
● Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and food storage areas.
● Wash, dry, and store dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment.
● Ensure that all kitchen surfaces, floors, and walls are cleaned and sanitized according to health and safety standards.
● Follow proper handling and storage of food to prevent contamination.
Stock Management
● Monitor inventory levels and notify management of shortages or discrepancies.
● Assist in the receipt and proper storage of deliveries.
● Label and store all ingredients and food items properly.
Safety and Compliance
● Adhere to all food safety and sanitation guidelines.
● Report any kitchen equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to management.
Qualifications
● Previous experience in a kitchen environment is preferred but not required. Basic understanding of food preparation and kitchen safety.
● Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
● Consistent attendance and reliability.
● Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 pounds.
● Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
● Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and occasional holidays.
